This native shrub produces more flowers and fruit than the Wild Coffee plant. Super dwarf Shiny Leaf Coffee (Psychotria nervosa var.) may grow to approximately 2-3 feet tall with a spread of approximately 1.5 to 2 feet. It does not like full sun, so partial to full shade will produce showy, white flowers on this shrub. It will tolerate loam, lime rock, or sandy soil with usually moist conditions but could survive short very dry periods. Birds will consume the red/burgundy fruit.
