Florida Tasselflower (Emilia fosbergii) is an annual that requires full sun and moist sand, loam or clay soil. It may grow to approximately 1-2 feet and should be planted 6-12 inches apart. This drought and humidity-tolerant plant produces pink/red/purple flowers which bloom July through October. The whole plant can be used as a vegetable: eaten raw or cooked. It is a great nectar source for pollinators.
