Teabush (Melochia tomentosa) is a long-lived perennial shrub that usually grows to 4-12 feet tall by 2-6 feet wide. Extremely popular with native bees, honey bees and butterflies with lovely pinkish to lavender flowers. A pollinator party on this plant at all times when in bloom. It will tolerate full sun to partial with moist, well-drained lime rock or sandy soil; this is a drought-tolerant shrub.  Pretty pinkish-purple showy flowers bloom April to October.  It attracts tons of pollinators and is a nectar source for many butterflies including hairstreaks, crescents, blues and skippers. It likes part shade to full sun.
