Heart-leafed Meadow Alexander is another member of the carrot family and closely related to Golden Alexander. This plant is found in a range of places from the southern Canadian border all the way to the Florida panhandle. This plant does best in moist soil in partial shade. In its preferred conditions, it can reach up to 3 feet but on average reached 1-2 feet. Heart-leafed Meadow Alexander bloom from April to May. Similarly to Golden Alexander, the Eastern black swallowtail use it as a host plant.
