Black Torch (Erithalis fruticose) is an evergreen shrub that is a state-threatened plant. It may grow 4-8 feet tall by 4-6 feet wide and produces showy, white flowers with red and black fruit. Plant it in full sun in well-drained, calcerous lime rock or sand and it will bloom and bear fruit all year round. This shrub makes a great hedge and provides food and shelter for wildlife.
