Violet Iris (Iris verna var. smalliana) grows to approximately 1 foot high by six inches wide and produces showy, blue-purple flowers. It spreads and can make a great groundcover. Plant it in an area that gets part to full shade with moist, well-drained soil. It attracts bees.
