Sweetscent aka Marsh Fleabane is an annual or short-lived perennial herb in the aster family. It thrives in wet coastal areas or along lakes and ponds in moist to wet soil with full sun. It is great for naturalistic landscapes and habitat restoration. It is moderately salt tolerant but not dorught tolerant. It blooms flat-topped clusters of pink flowers summer to fall that are attractive to pollinators. The flowers have a camphor-like scent when crushed that some find sweet but others may find skunky.
