East Coast Lantana/Florida Shrubverbena (Lantana depressa var. floridana) is similar to Pineland Lantana but occurs in Central Florida and the entire East Coast of the state. It takes full sun and sandy low nutrient soils and will be highly drought tolerant once established. This differs from Pineland Lantana by being a slightly large shrub of 3-5', larger leaves spaced further apart on the stems with a more open growth habit. The flowers are similar but tend to be more bright yellow and held higher away from the stem than the Pineland variety.
