Spanish Bayonet (Yucca aloifolia) is an evergreen shrub that may grow 5-10 feet tall by 3-6 feet wide. It produces white flowers and green fruit. Plant it in full sun or part shade in moist, sandy soil that doesn't get flooded. The flowers can be served as a salad or cooked and the fruit is eaten in some cultures.
Larval host plant for Cofaqui Giant Skipper and Yucca skipper butterflies. It's pollinated by Yucca moths. This plant is a great nectar source for the Southern White and other butterflies.
