Southern Fogfruit (Phyla stoechadifolia) is a perennial that may grow 6-18 inches with purple flowers that bloom all year. It requires full sun and moist to wet soil so it cannot tolerate dry spells. It is neither salt nor drought tolerant. This state endangered plant is the larval host for Common buckeye, Phaon crescent and White peacock caterpillars and the nectar plant for many butterflies.
