The skippers love Blue Morning Glory! We often see them diving into the flowers on butterfly counts. I love waking up and seeing Blue Morning Glory (Ipomoea indica) in bloom in my landscape! It blooms all year and in my garden, it is under an oak canopy with filtered sun and thriving! It is a sun lover though. This long-lived perennial twining vine with heart-shaped leaves is fast-growing. Trumpet-shaped flowers begin a deep purple with blue hues, then turn to pinkish purple later in the day. It is deer-resistant, and it attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.
