Firebush "Compacta" (Hamelia patens "compacta") is a non-native shrub that may grow 3-4 feet. This compact plant produces yellow-orange flowers and black fruit. Plant it in full to partial sun in well-drained sandy soil. It is not drought tolerant but attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.
