This perennial or semi-evergreen is a terrific mat like groundcover which produces lovely 1" yellow daisy looking flowers with a deep green foilage. It produces runners to form new plants that root to spread. As you would expect, it is a great flowering ground cover. It may grow 3”-4” inches tall with a spread 18” inches wide or more. This plant prefers understories in the upland woods where it gets a pleasant dappled light and not too wet and not too dry conditions. Like Mama bear, everything has to be "just right". It doesn't like full sun or full shade - this is a partial sun plant. It typically blooms in April and May but it is possible to bloom in other months if the plant is happy. This is certainly a situation of right plant, right place. This plant doesn't want too much of anything - just the right amount.
