If your wick struggles to light after the initial burn, make sure to trim back some of the charred wood. You can use a wick trimmer or a straight edge nail clipper, just be careful not to go too low to risk drowning the fire. If you do go too low, you can melt a small pool of wax around the base and soak it up with a paper towel.
