Lakeside sunflower is endemic to Florida and on the endangered species list. This plant does best in moist sandy soil in partial shade. Unlike some of Florida's other sunflowers, lakeside sunflower will not do well if allowed to dry out. When mature this plant will stand at 3ft tall with a showy yellow flower. In the winter this plant will go dormant and re-emerge in the spring. Lakeside sunflowers will propagate from seed.
