Lopsided Indiangrass (Sorghastrum secundum) is a perennial grass that grows to 1-6 feet tall with a 1-foot spread. It produces show yellow flowers and fruit when planted in full sun in sandy soil that's kept moist but will also tolerate occasional dry periods. It's flower stalks are only visible in the fall and the rest of the year it looks like tall grass. It makes a great backdrop for a wildflower garden and is the larval host for "grass skippers" such as Swarthy skipper, Delaware skipper, Eufala skipper and Twin Spot skipper.
