Netleaf Leather Flower (Clemantis reticulata) is a perennial vine with showy, pinkish-purple flowers and white fruit. It is a twining, trailing vine that may grow to 10 feet or more and blooms spring through summer. This winter-dormant vine will tolerate full sun to part shade in well-drained, acidic to neutral pH sandy soil. It is the larval host plant for the Mournful thyris and is a great nectar source for pollinators. Birds and other small wildlife consume the seeds.
