Orange Coneflower (Rudbeckia fulgida) is a short-lived perennial flower. Showy yellow or orange flowers will grow 2-3 feet tall with a 1-5-2.5 feet spread in full sun or partial shade. It will tolerate somewhat moist (no flooding) to short dry periods in sand, loam or clay. Flowers bloom mid-summer to the fall and are deer resistant. This plant grows in clumps which can be divided for propagation, and it self sows. It is a great nectar source that will attract bumble bees and butterflies. Birds love to eat the seeds.
