Pigeon Plum (Coccoloba diversifolia) is an evergreen tree that may grow 30-40 feet tall and 10-20 feet wide but it may also be planted in a container. It makes a great shade tree and produces white or yellow flowers with purple fruit. It may be planted in full sun or partial shade with well-drained to dry sandy soil or humus (organic upland). This tree attracts pollinators and its fruits are consumed by birds and other wildlife.
Pigeon Plum is a nectar source for the large orange Sulphur, swallowtail and other butterflies.
