Spider Milkweed aka Green Milkweed or Green Antelopehorn Milkweed is found in pinelands, pine rocklands and disturbed areas. It flowers winter through summer with a bigger bloom in spring. This perennial is tolerant of most soil types preferred well-drained sandy soil moderately dry to moist. It is a full sun milkweed that grows to about 2’ tall. Its deep rootstock helps it survive drought. Its hardiness zones are 8A-11. Monarch and Queen caterpillars will certainly enjoy eating this milkweed if planted in your garden. Flowers are light green with a purplish center.
This milkweed does not grow well in containers.
