Stoke's Aster (Stokesia laevis) is a perennial that can grow approximately 1 to 1.5 feet with a spread of 6 inches to one foot. Showy, periwinkle blue flowers will bloom from May to September if planted in full sun but it will also tolerate part shade. It prefers moist, well-drained sandy soil and its best to deadhead the spent flowers to encourage new growth/blooms. It's rabbit and heat/drought tolerant. Butterflies, bees and wasps will pollinate it.
