White stopper (Eugenia axillaris) is an evergreen tree that may grow 15-25 feet tall and 8-15 feet wide. It produces white-cream flowers and fruit that begin green then turn red to black. Plant it part shade or part sun in acidic, well-drained but moist sand, loam, clay or limestone. This tree is drought tolerant once established. Birds are attracted to the berries.
