Wild bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) is a perennial that may grow 2-4 feet high, in clumps with a spread of 2-3 feet. Fragrant, showy pink-lavender flowers will bloom July to September. Deadhead the flowers to extend the bloom time. Wild bergamot will tolerate full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil. It self-seeds and is a great nectar source for hummingbirds and butterflies.
